SPJ is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of our nation and liberty. It is a journalist’s role to keep the American people well-informed in an accurate, comprehensive, timely and understandable manner.
Mission
CSUF:
- To assist students majoring in journalism in completing their degree through advice, guidance and advocacy.
- To prepare students with information about the options open to them after graduation.
- To sponsor events that promotes journalism and literacy at CSUF
- To increase awareness and protect the right of the First Amendment to CSUF students.
- To promote this flow of information.
- To maintain constant vigilance in protection of the First Amendment guarantees of freedom or speech and of the press.
- To stimulate high standards and ethical behavior in the practice of journalism.
- To foster excellence among journalist.
- To inspire successive generations of talented individuals to become dedicated journalist.
- To encourage diversity in journalism.
